Malaysia is multilingual, digitally mature and culturally varied. Localisation decisions should therefore begin with audience evidence rather than the assumption that one translated listing will suit everyone.
Map language to acquisition
Review campaign language, search terms, geography and product usage together. English may remain effective for one segment while Bahasa Malaysia materially improves clarity for another.
Localise context, not only copy
Payment references, imagery, benefits and social proof can carry more weight than literal translation. Screenshots should reflect the real in-app experience and the needs of the target segment.
Measure each storefront deliberately
Set a learning goal and avoid changing every asset at once. Monitor downstream quality as well as install conversion so that a more persuasive listing does not create less-qualified users.
